Stay at home orders and what it means for you and your remedial massage treatment

Stay-at-home orders extended to include Hunter Valley.

The New South Wales State Government have announced that from 5pm AEST today Thursday 5 August, those who live in the Hunter Valley region must follow stay-at-home orders until at least 11.59pm AEST Thursday 12 August. More information will be available on the NSW Health website soon.

Below is the full list of Local Government Areas (LGAs) these orders will apply to:

  • Newcastle
  • Lake Macquarie
  • Maitland
  • Port Stephens
  • Cessnock
  • Dungog
  • Singleton
  • Muswellbrook

It is the Association's understanding that therapeutic massage therapists, remedial massage therapists and myotherapists who live or work in those LGAs are permitted to work during the stay-at-home orders under the following conditions:

Please note that all non-essential treatments should be postponed for the duration of the stay-at-home orders.

It is the Association's understanding that mobile massage is not permitted in these LGAs, or in any part of NSW by a therapist who lives in one of these LGAs, for the duration of the stay-at-home orders.

Massage & Myotherapy Australia will continue to monitor the situation and notify members if there are any changes to these directions.
